If you mean the lava dome in the middle that keeps building up and falling down, it was ~1300 ft last I heard. It apparently grows by about a small pickup truck full of material every 2 seconds...
What's cool is that there's a constant steam plume now that makes a little cloud over the crater.
The movie really freaked out J. He told me he wanted to go home about half-way through it, but by the end he wanted to see it again.

No car-sick folks this time :) We didn't hike this time, but it would have been a great day for it. The temperature was perfect!
Definitely wouldn't have compared to your hiking in AK though!
